Where the ocean comes to life
One of the great pleasures of Point Break is having the Atlantic quite literally outside your windows.
During Cape Town’s winter and spring months, broadly June to November, Southern Right and humpback whales migrate along the coast and may occasionally be spotted breaching or blowing offshore.
Dolphins can be seen throughout the year, while Cape fur seals and an array of coastal seabirds add to the constantly changing seascape.
Sightings can never be guaranteed, but guests who enjoy marine wildlife may want to keep a pair of binoculars close at hand.
Here for a Concert or Game?
Point Break is exceptionally well positioned for events at Cape Town Stadium.
With the stadium just a minute or two away on foot, guests can leave the car behind, enjoy the atmosphere before the event and simply walk home afterwards without worrying about event traffic or parking.
Once back inside Point Break, the energy of the city quickly gives way to the tranquillity of the oceanfront setting.
The Promonade
Cross Beach Road and you are immediately on Cape Town’s famous seafront Promenade.
Stretching for kilometres along the Atlantic shoreline, the Promenade is one of Cape Town’s most enjoyable outdoor spaces and is popular with walkers, runners, cyclists, families and locals enjoying the coast.
Head out for an early morning walk, run beside the Atlantic or join locals gathering along the shoreline as the sun sets over the ocean.
